The Fourth of July is almost here, which means that a number of big celebrations – including fireworks shows – throughout Florida are about to take place! If you’re looking for a new or different way to spend Independence Day with your family and friends, check out some of the events we found below!

The events below are just a few throughout Florida that anyone can enjoy. Once you find an event that appeals to you, plan on arriving as early as possible to make sure you beat the crowds!

America’s Birthday Bash at Bayfront Park, Miami

If you want to kick off the July 4 fun as soon as possible, visit America’s Birthday Bash at Bayfront Park in Miami. Beginning at 10 a.m., this family-friendly event will feature a kids’ zone where children can let loose while their parents enjoy a cold beverage in the Budweiser Beer Garden.

Fourth of July Spectacular, Fort Lauderdale

Beginning at noon at AIA and La Olas Boulevard on Fort Lauderdale Beach, the Fourth of July Spectacular includes fun for kids like bounce houses, face painting, and water slides, as well as hotdog and watermelon eating contests for brave (and hungry) adults. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Panama City Beach’s Star Spangled Spectacular

If you’re going to be in the Panama City Beach area this July 4 weekend, you can experience the waterfront town’s classic firework show from the sand. Stake out your spot earlier in the day and enjoy fun in the sun until 9 p.m., when the Star Spangled Spectacular is scheduled to begin.

Going to be at Panama City Beach on July 3? Stay until 8:30 p.m. that night and you’ll get treated to a pre-July-4 “Light Up the Gulf” fireworks show!

Celebrate America at Tom Brown Park, Tallahassee

Residents near Tallahassee should check out what’s going on at Tom Brown Park if they’re looking for a family-friendly way to spend Independence Day. Various food vendors, crafters, and souvenir stands will be at this fun-filled event. Kids will especially enjoy the children’s activity area, where they can let off some steam before catching the fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
