Robert Kraft

Robert Kraft Arrest

Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, and long-time Trump supporter has been charged with soliciting a prostitute, stemming from a police investigation of a massage parlor in Martin County, Florida.

Kraft

I've represented dozens of men and women charged with this solicitation of prostitution, like Robert Kraft. For a first offense, many defendants are offered some form of a diversion program, resulting in a dismissal. However, the crime of solicitation of prostitution is a second-degree misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for up to 60 days, and a fine of up to $500, an educational program about the negative effects of prostitution and human trafficking, such as a sexual violence prevention education program, including such programs offered by faith-based providers, if such programs exist in the judicial circuit in which the offender is sentenced, 100 hours of community service.

Additionally, a person who violates the statute must be assessed a civil penalty of $5,000 if the violation results in any judicial disposition other than acquittal or dismissal

Additionally, the Martin County State Attorney's Office may require a "statement of responsibility" for admission into any diversion program. That could be an issue for him personally and professionally, considering he's publicly denied that he committed the offense.

Hopefully, Kraft will be treated the same as any other person charged with this second-degree misdemeanor and that his notoriety won't cause the prosecution to grandstand.
